And … to tear off the arms and legs of that person in Activision, who decided to release vampires simultaneously with the aforementioned Half-Life 2, and even in this form. The game was in full and completely, at the time of release in the game there was a moment that could only be switched to the next scene through the console; half of the chips did not work (for example, in one version there was completely no armor); The number of playable times was cut to seven; the levels of steel and with constant loading; the plot of the plot remained, but far from the one that was promised. You can scold vampires for a long time and in fact there is something, but there is one but!
In my opinion, the best action-RPG did not do it. Breaking through tons of bugs, the player understood that he would never meet such living (more precisely inanimate) characters anywhere else, the animation of the faces and voice acting were beautiful, and the characters themselves were registered to the smallest details, I will give a couple of examples:

At the time of the announcement in 2003, it was difficult to believe that all those things that the developers from Gliphix spoke of can be realized, not to mention the fact that before that the team had not released a single game and the Advent Ring trilogy, should immediately put them on the Olympus of the video game developers. Think about: the script for the game was written by Orson Cattle Card (a very famous American science fiction writer, who wrote a cycle of books about the ender, the recently released film “Ender’s game” – a film adaptation of the first novel of the book), the soundtrack was performed by a symphonic orchestra, they promised to introduce a huge amount of controlled equipment into the game, and the player’s character simultaneously knew how to shoot weapons and the psi of pse of psi – everything worked out on the paper. Great, but. The developers, apparently, overestimated their strength, and as a result, everything related to gameplay, graphics and staging rollers in the game was at an extremely average level. The whole game pulled the plot on himself, and he was surprisingly strong.
So, the game starts from the moment of the first contact with an unearthly alien race, which warns earthlings about the imminent and inevitable attack of their native planet Rasa Synthetics that destroy all living things in the galaxy (nothing reminds of anything?). Then everything develops so rapidly that you simply do not have time to notice the shortcomings of the game, the whirlpool of events does not let go to the very end, but, as I said, the game was declared as a trilogy, and the plot breaks in the most interesting place. It is sad that we will never know what happened to Gideon, since there will be no continuation, and they did not end the story in books and comics.

Events constantly contradict each other, the flashbacks reveal more and more information about the mysterious project “Zener”, children of mutant, betrayal, experiments on people and many other elements of good Hollywood thriller. Gamplei in the game is thoughtful, with the expectation of the use of psi capacity, although the action is also present, but it is realized badly.

Of the advantages of the game, I would like to note: a very good graphics, chic art design, soundtrack and sounddrapex (when you first encounter mutants in the sewer – remember my words) and setting. Of the minuses: a delusional plot with a weak production and absolutely stupid AI-Taxes, which is compensated by their cheatter accuracy and flimsy of the protagonist at first.
– Glev in the hands of Hydeden turns not only into deadly weapons, but also into a tool for solving puzzles, many of which are tied to the possibilities of its charging energy of fire or ellectricity.

– Though there is a firearm in the game, but on all guns there are DNA scanners that explode weapons if you use it for a long time. In this case, the game has a black market where you can buy "clean" trunks.
